Hello, I’m Emma

Wife to Mr B, mum to three little humans and two furry sidekicks (more on them soon!) — and the face behind Audrey & Coco.

I’ve always had a bit of a thing for making stuff. It all started with my Nan, who taught me how to knit and let me rummage through her magical button tin (an old Marks & Spencer shortbread tin, obviously). I grew up shopping small and local — my grandad would sometimes take me to a tiny newsagent after school and let me pick a magic painting book. Pure joy.

Fast forward a few years and I found myself in Manchester, studying Retail Marketing and spending way too much time exploring indie shops and wandering around Afflecks Palace, soaking up all the quirky, creative businesses.

After university, I launched my first business making colourful, kitsch jewellery. My designs were stocked internationally and sold through my own website. But after a while, I craved something different — a steadier routine — and spent the next decade working as a retail manager in fashion and department stores.

Then came 2016. On maternity leave, after a completely random Hobbycraft trip, I came home with a pack of typewriter letter stamps, some ink pads and blank cards. I sat on my living room floor and stamped my very first cards.

The business name? Inspired by my two cats — Audrey (a glossy black beauty) and Coco (a shy calico) — after a fun brainstorming session with friends.

As orders grew (and so did my little family), I eventually swapped hand stamping for digital printing to keep up with demand. But some things haven’t changed: every time I hear that “kerching” of a new order, Martha still shouts “NEW ORDER!!” — and I can’t wait for the twins to join in too.

Running Audrey & Coco means a lot of late nights once the kids are asleep and probably too much time checking emails. But it also means I can be there for nursery and school pick-ups, beach walks, and — best of all — I get to spend Christmas at home with my family, instead of working on the shop floor.

Your orders genuinely mean the world to me. Thank you for supporting my little business and helping me do what I love.
